Nursery News

We have been welcomed back to Nursery this week by some bright smiley faces and lots of friendly chatter. It has been a pleasure to see new friendships forming already and we look forward to a productive and engaging year ahead.

We are so proud of the Hedgehog Class, the children have had a super week meeting new friends and having new adventures exploring outside and creating our first self-portrait.

Year 1 News

In Year 1 we have started our topic 'Moon Zoom' by looking at some of the different planets in the solar system. We had a go at painting our own planets thinking about the colour and patterns we would like to include. We also used a graphics program on the computer and used the toolbar to select the colour and tools that we needed.

Year 2 have had a wonderful first week becoming our new Squirrels! We have enjoyed getting to know each other and settling in to our new classroom. We started off the week by sketching some self portraits - we spoke about techniques such as contour hatching, stippling and cross hatching to create shading. Our completed work is on display in the cloakroom!  Find out more here

The Badgers Class have settled in well during this first week. We have started our geography unit: 'Rocks, Relics and Rumbles'. We have looked at the layers of the Earth and in art, the children have started sketches of ammonites. In maths we have started our place value topic. We look forward to more learning next week!

Year 4

We have already started our learning about our first topic, based around mountains and rivers, enjoyed some fast-paced team building games in PE, logged in to the new Chromebooks ready for our Computing lessons and put our times table skills to the test playing 'Multiplication Ping-Pong' and completing some mosaic pictures by finding the answers to our 2, 3, 4, and 8 times tables.

Important Notices

Car parking

Please do not park in any of the disabled parking bays unless you are displaying a blue badge.

Lunch boxes

We encourage healthy options in our school lunches and in most cases this is supported when you are choosing what to pack in your child's lunch from home. Please try to avoid sweets and chocolate bars and keep them as a treat.

Playground use in the morning

As the school grows and we have more families on the playground in the morning, I ask that children who wish to expel some energy by running do so only on the MUGA (multi-use games area).

Although we encourage children to come to school on bikes and scooters, they should dismount at the school gate and leave any wheeled vehicles at the designated store at the front of the school.

This should ensure a safe and calm playground environment for all families at the start and end of day.
