Easter Celebrations

As part of our Easter celebrations this year, Revd. Dawn Stokes will lead an outdoor Easter service here at school on Friday 1^st April. The service will commence at 1:30 p.m. and all parents, carers and our nursery families are invited to attend. Following the service, the PTA will be selling a range of cakes and drinks for you to sit and enjoy, much like our Macmillan coffee mornings.

As you know, the Easter Garden Competition is also on Friday 1st April, please bring your entry to the playground on Friday morning. This year, the competition has been generously supported by Tesco and Waitrose who will provide our yummy Easter egg prizes!

Donations of cakes can be brought in on Friday morning, please deliver donations to the school entrance nearest the playground gate (where red noses were sold recently).

Stars of the Week

Well done to all our stars
for being a shining example in faith, love, self-control and patience.

Reception News

The Hedgehogs class have been learning about combining numbers and practising this skill. They have also shown great awareness of listening to others and responding in the vet's role-play area. It takes practice to be a good receptionist!

We are also proud of the models children have been building whilst working together and sharing resources. We love teamwork! View our photo album

Year 1 News

The Sycamores Forest School group enjoyed some Easter activities this week. They practised their map reading skills through an exciting Easter Egg Hunt and made crosses using sticks and wool.

Year 2 News

Squirrels started this week with a wonderful visit to Daventry Methodist Church as we were invited to join their Easter Interactive event. We were guided in groups around a re-enactment of the Easter Story. The children gained so much from the visit and were able to link their learning from the classroom this term with ease.

Year 3 News

A fantastic time was had by all in a young Sports Leaders lesson with Northamptonshire Sport! The Badgers developed the skills of listening and working together as a team in a fun and practical way, in their first lesson.

Nursery News

The children in Nursery are becoming increasingly comfortable in subitising or recognising patterns of numbers, focusing on groups of five. This week some children used a five frame to chalk an array of pictures on the playground. We also learned about Palm Sunday and learned about how Mothering Sunday is marked.

Forest School News

Reception enjoyed listening to 'The disgusting sandwich' by Gareth Edwards and Hannah Shaw in Forest School this week. We then had great fun creating our own disgusting sandwich with materials we could find around us - some of us even included worms!

Notices

School photos - Tuesday 29th March

It is our class photo day on Tuesday 29th March, these are a lovely memento of the year group and they need to look smart. Your child needs to arrive at school in full school uniform. If your child is due to attend PE or Forest School please send their kit to school in a bag, so they can change after the photos are taken.

School lunches

The Kingswood Catering menu is available to order from, for next term. Please order as far in advance as possible, orders can be changed or added up to 23:59 on the Wednesday before the meal will be taken. If you have any queries please contact Kingswood direct by tel. 01536 201203.

Year 1

To end our Bright Lights, Big City topic, on Thursday afternoon, Year 1 will be having a Royal Tea Party. Please can children come to school in their PE kit as normal, but bring an outfit to change into for the afternoon, fit for a King or Queen! This could be a dressing up costume (e.g. king, princess etc.) or party attire.

Parents' Evenings

We look forward to seeing you in school at one of our parents' evenings. If are yet to book an appointment please contact the office or your child's class teacher.

On the day of your appointment, please enter and leave the school by the main entrance, remembering to leave time to sign in before your appointment.

Reporting absence

If you need to report an absence for your child please telephone 01327 493112 and press option 1 to leave a brief message of your child's name, reason for absence and if possible the expected date of their return to school. Please ensure messages are left before registration starts:

8:45am for school pupils and 9:00am for nursery.
