What a wonderful day we all had! In the morning, the children worked as a team to earn points for their country and they tried a variety of activities, all linked to the Commonwealth Games. We were grateful for the help of some Y11 and Y12 students who supported the children and led some of the activities.

Lots of extended families joined us for lunch on the field and the weather was kind. The afternoon saw the competitive racing with children again earning points for their country.

In the end, Jamaica were victorious, with India coming second and Australia coming third.

Although there were calls for a parents’ race, we politely declined and instead all headed for the ice-cream van kindly organised by the PTA!

Safeguarding & Wellbeing

Get help with the cost of living

Citizens Advice believe no one should have to face complicated or intimidating problems without good quality, independent advice. They aim to give people the knowledge and the confidence they need to find their way forward - whoever they are, and whatever their problem.

If you don’t have enough to live on, you might be able to get help from the government or your local council to afford essentials like bills and food. This includes the Household Support Fund and Cost of Living Payments.

Citizens Advice offer information on a range of support that can be explored including:

  • Check what benefits you can get
  • Get your benefit paid early
  • Check what help you can get from your local council
  • Check if you can get one-off payments from the government
  • Get help with essential costs
  • Help with school costs e.g. lunches, uniform, school trips and holiday clubs

Daventry Time Capsule

Earlier this year, our Year 3 class took part in the Daventry Time Capsule Competition linked to their 'Through the Ages' topic. The task was to imagine 'What will Daventry and your community look like in 100 years time?'.

On Saturday 6th August the time capsule will be buried by the three winning children and their handprints will be cast in the concrete slab being placed above the time capsule.

Daventry Museum and Daventry Town Council would like to extend an invitation to you and your family to attend the event which is sure to have lots to entertain the whole family, please see below for more information.
