Coronation Fever hit Nursery this week as the children have learned a new fact about our King each day, including that he can fly a helicopter and that his two dogs are called Beth and Bluebell. The children have created their own room decorations too and have practised singing both our school coronation song and the National Anthem.    See our photo gallery

This week in Reception the children have been busy creating our Coronation role play area including adding detail to the Coronation chair and learning about how it is from our history.

We have also begun to use finer brushes in our portraits and have enjoyed our Coronation experience role play very much!  Find out more

Year 2 have enjoyed lots of busy learning this week! In English we have been finding out about lighthouses and writing our own non-chronological reports using our findings. We have especially enjoyed continuing our art unit this week, where we had some messy fun using powder paints to investigate colour mixing!  Find out what else we have been learning this week

This week, Year 3 have continued their ‘Through the Ages’ topic and have looked at prehistoric times and where this fits on a timeline. We finished making our models of cam mechanisms, this involved a lot of careful observation and experimentation to fix problems with our models and to improve how they worked. The children then drew a labelled diagram of a cam mechanism and wrote a description of how they work. More news

The classes have enjoyed the opportunity to create natural crowns, coronation coins, sweet smelling ointment to anoint our new King and even a natural sceptre.

Of course there has been all the usual fun and games too - especially the popular activity of 'fairy fire' lighting! Seed bombs have been made and thrown in the hope we see some more wildflowers in our site. Read more here
