Nursery News

Image[7]

In anticipation of our upcoming trip to Mini Meadows, the children in Nursery have been learning facts about farm animals as well as creating their own 3D craft animals using art resources. We have been focusing on school rules and values and have shown fantastic sharing and teamwork on the bikes outside.

We have been looking in depth at the Creation story and also at map making, creating our own towns and adding symbols. We have also improved our observational drawing and understanding of adding texture and contrast with shading. Reception visited the allotment and found lots of insects which help our gardens and vegetable growing. Well done Hedgehogs.  See our photos here

Year 2 News

Year 2 started the week with a powerful day lead by Northampton Town Football Club. Mr Barnes joined us for the day and taught us all about Walter Tull. We learned how he was a professional football player who became the first black officer to lead soldiers into battle during World War One.

The Badgers have been very busy in science this week. They have looked at functions of plant leaves and why they are so important. Ask us what we learned.

The children have also been learning about the Gospel and its link to good news. Y3 have also been looking at what makes them unique as well as what makes them happy in PSHE (a.k.a. The Calm Badgers Group).

On Tuesday we had a visit from Northamptonshire Sports to deliver a Hobby Horse Gymkhana session to Reception and KS1. The children in Year 1 had a great time. First they practised a range of skills including jumping, jousting, throwing and hopping. The children then used some of these skills when going around the show jumping course.

Forest School

After our favourite summer game of hide and seek amongst the very tall plants, we decided to break our 'no pick' rule for the day and use some of the flowers in our craft activities! We experimented with using different grasses, leaves and flowers to paint with and also made some clay pinch pots to display our finds in.

Stars of the Week

Well done to all our stars for being a shining example
in faith, love, self-control and patience.

'Always Ready Club' Cinema Reward

We are so pleased with the children's efforts in school that we have decided to extend the Dojo deadline.  If your child has been invited to go to the cinema they will be given a letter to take home on Wednesday 12th July.  Keep up the good work everyone!

PTA News

On behalf of the entire PTA committee, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your overwhelming support to the summer fête. We are thrilled to inform you that together, we were able to raise an incredible £1200 to benefit our school and the children.

Without you, and the generosity of local businesses who very kindly donated to our raffle this wouldn’t have been possible.  By participating in the various activities and games, to purchasing delicious treats and browsing through the stalls, your involvement truly made the fête a memorable experience for everyone involved. We witnessed a sense of joy throughout the afternoon, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere that truly reflected the spirit of our school community. Well done to all our winners and all prizes have been claimed.

The funds raised will play a vital role in enhancing the educational experience for all our children over the coming years. We plan to support on various activities as requested by the school, and will keep you updated on how we spend the money.

We also want to extend our gratitude to those who volunteered to help at the fête. Their commitment and hard work were instrumental in making the day enjoyable for everyone.

Once again, thank you for your generosity and time. We look forward to continuing to work together to create more memorable events and enriching experiences for our children in the future.

We have put a plan of events together for next year and if you’d like to help we’d love to have you onboard.
