Nursery News

The children in Nursery have continued to develop their ball skills in PE and this week worked on the 'caterpillar, caterpillar, butterfly!' method of rolling a ball and then kicking the moving ball.  The children also practised using their grasshopper skills to throw a ball high into the air.

Year 1 News

Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed celebrating their own mini Shabbat. They made Challah bread, adding sugar and honey to make it sweet for a celebration. They then plaited it to make it extra special. 

In the afternoon, we lit the Shabbat candles and the children said some prayers. We ate the Challah bread together with some Kiddush “wine” (blackcurrant squash). Find out more

Year 2 News

Year 2 have been busy learning about plants again! We have been making comparisons between the UK and Brazil, particularly the Amazon rainforest. This week we learned about wire sculpting and used wire to sculpt our own leaves and coat them with tissue paper. We created some colourful and creative new plants!  More photos

Year 3 News

Year three have been working on multiplication and division in maths. The children have completed their independent write in Literacy and have started a new unit. The new unit is on diary writing and they will be learning about Illiona the slave girl. In Art the children have been making mosaics using tesserae. In PE the children are looking at football skills. In science we have been looking at the human skeleton as well as muscles.  Photo gallery

Year 4 News

Woodpeckers have enjoyed applying their ball tracking skills this week in a series of different activities.  We learnt how to prepare our bodies ready to react quickly to our partner by bending our knees, making sure that our feet were shoulder width apart and our eyes were firmly fixed on the ball ready to receive it.  Find out ore about our week.

Forest School News

Year 4 are continuing to enjoy their Forest School adventures at the Country Park. This week after a whole group game of hide and seek we enjoyed some natural art opportunities, den building and of course climbing, swinging and hanging!! We loved seeing some squirrels chasing each other around a tree and one digging in the ground - we think looking for a buried cache of nuts. We ended our session with a relaxing lay on the ground to listen to our surroundings and experience some peace. We were really pleased to see some of you took part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch last weekend. Thank you to Finley and Florence for sharing their bird watching with us.

Sports News

Last Friday some children from years 2, 3 and 4 went to a squash festival at the squash club in Daventry. The children had a great time learning about the sport. They took part in a series of activities to improve fitness and agility and to develop their racket and ball skills. They even got to play a game of 'Squicket' which is similar to cricket but using a squash racket and ball.  Photo gallery

Wrap Around Care

The booking form for March, is now available on our school website.

All bookings, except those paid for with childcare vouchers, should be made using the Pay360 Education Payments website. If you require access please contact the school office.

Wrap around care bookings close at 3pm on the Sunday before the session, and are subject to availability.
