Year 3 - Contrast and Complement
Since our holidays we have carried on our sharing in the morning. We share things that we have enjoyed or achieved and celebrate as a class.
We have also started our unit 'Contrast and Complement' in art. This project teaches children about colour theory by studying the colour wheel and colour mixing. It includes an exploration of tertiary colours, warm and cool colours, complementary colours and analogous colours, and how artists use colour in their artwork. During our first lesson we enjoyed working with the paint, achieving a balance between water and paint!
In maths we have been learning about time both on a digital and analogue clock. We have spent time talking about how long things take such as break time and lunch time.
And finally in English we have been working with the book 'In the Forest' and continue to practice our Kinetic Letter formation in the mornings. We have seen some fantastic progress this year!
