Nursery News

Image[8]

After enjoying the story 'Oliver's Vegetables' and having practised using a knife safely last week, the children in Nursery thoroughly enjoyed making their own homemade chips this week.  They carefully followed some simple instructions and enjoyed them as a healthy snack, sharing some with Mrs Towers too.

Reception News

This week Reception were visited by Norman the firefighter to learn about how firefighters help us, as well as how we can stay safe.  The children learnt about stop, drop and roll, as well as how important smoke detectors are in the home.  They may ask you about them and if any aren't working please tell us, and we will pass it on as Norman can help!

Year 1 News

Year 1 thoroughly enjoyed their visit from Jo Elijah who shared her Jewish faith with them.  They loved finding out all about how Jewish people celebrate Shabbat and tasting Challah bread.  They are looking forward to making their own Challah bread and recreating their own Shabbat experience in school.

Year 2 News

This term in science Year 2 have been learning about plants.  This week we have also learned the parts of a plant and dissected real plants to identify their parts and their functions, creating some beautiful work to show our understanding.

Last week we enjoyed our Jewish visitor who spoke to us about Hanukkah which was a great opportunity to revisit our RE learning from the Autumn Term.

Our Curriculum

As a maintained school, we must follow the statutory requirements of the National Curriculum.  However, our ambitions for our children go far beyond this.  We have designed a carefully structured curriculum that ensures children are able to learn more and do more, building on their learning year after year.

To discover more about your child's learning, visit our school website where you can find information about your child's year group and the subjects we teach.

The Nursery curriculum can be found here.
