This week Reception were visited by Norman the firefighter to learn about how firefighters help us, as well as how we can stay safe.  The children learnt about stop, drop and roll, as well as how important smoke detectors are in the home.  They may ask you about them and if any aren't working please tell us, and we will pass it on as Norman can help!

The children also enjoyed using the hoses and learning about all the equipment on the truck as you can see in our photos!

During the week we have been using our Numbersense brilliantly to give explanations for how we see the number 9 using ten frames.  As part of our Lunar New Year Celebrations we have tasted yummy noodles rice and crackers and learnt about the traditional story of the Emperor's animal race.  We have had lots of fun recalling all 12 animals and retelling as well as serving customers in the restaurant and writing menus!  What a busy week!
