Forest School - Break the ice
All of the pupils have been enjoying exploring ice in their Forest School sessions over the last couple of weeks and have been amazed at how thick it is. We have found it in the strangest places - like inside the tyres where we've been trying to get it out in one 'smiley' piece - but the largest circle is always found in the fire pit! Some children like chipping it out of the puddle and some have used the pieces to make their own mosaic path. Everyone has enjoyed the chance to slip and slide on our own ice-skating rink, but we have talked about the danger of venturing on to ice covered ponds and lakes.
The team work, collaboration and turn taking we have seen while the sledges have been used has been a delight, as have the beaming smiles and giggles!
Don't forget about the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend if you can spare an hour to count the birds which land in your garden. More information can be found at rspb.org.uk/birdwatch
