Year 2 - Places of Worship
Year 2 have been learning about places of worship in RE this term. We turned the classroom in to a mosque and learned about some of the ways in which people might worship there. We all removed our shoes and practised Wudu (washing before entering the mosque) and children were given the choice to cover their heads with a scarf. We really enjoyed a moment of calm listening to the call to prayer and making comparisons between mosques, churches and synagogues. We have used this learning to reflect on places that are special to us and why.
This week we have also had an outdoor English lesson, putting on our wellies and utilising our forest school area to gather vocabulary to describe leaves, ready for our non-fiction writing over the coming weeks.
