Great start for the first Year 5 at Monksmoor Park
This week our first Year 5 class, the Dragonflies have settled back into their learning with gusto. In English, we have read the poem ‘The Highwayman’ by Alfred Noyes and begun to write a new narrative poem following the same style.
Our maths learning has seen us recapping our knowledge of place value and manipulating numbers to one million. In science, we have looked at why objects fall to the ground due to an invisible force called gravity. We used Newton meters to investigate the weight of objects and the fact it is directly linked to its mass and found that we could work out that gravity was constant.
