A damp morning for Year 4 in Forest School which meant the slugs were out in force! We couldn't believe the size or variety in colour and patterning between them. We were able to identify their breathing hole and with close observation were able to actually see it opening and closing as the slug was breathing which was amazing.

Some tiny white eggs were found under a log so we'd like to try and find out which creature might have laid them and watch to see when they hatch.

There was lots of foraging for blackberries which were used for painting. Some of the children decided to be very inventive and make their own paintbrushes out of natural materials. It was interesting to see the different effects these created and what happened when we mixed the blackberry juice with mud.
