Year 4 have been continuing to work on column subtraction this week – we were glad to discover more efficient ways to take away which saved us lots of exchanging across the columns – our favourite way with calculations like 3000 - 179 was to subtract 1 from each number (e.g. 2999 – 178) and find out the answer was the same but the column subtraction was so much easier!

We have started our Times Table Rockstars Hall of Fame on the classroom door – to get a rock status children need to complete 10 studio games and they will make it onto the Hall of Fame – keep playing to improve speed and fluency.

In PE we have been learning about Yoga, moving with breath and moving from pose to pose in Yoga flow. We enjoyed the relaxation session at the end very much too (I think some of us were nearly dropping off!).

Finally, the children were really interested to find out more about Storm Babet that caused widespread flooding over the half term break. They worked in groups to produce short news items – there was some very impressive acting on display! In the photo gallery you will also find our completed artwork from our landscape art unit: Vista.
