Year 4 - Anti-Bullying Week
This week has been Anti-Bullying Week: the theme this year is “Make a Noise” about bullying. On Monday we wore odd socks to remind us that we are all different and that this should be celebrated. We worked in groups to make up Anti-Bullying Poems and raps to make our voices heard.
On Tuesday we were involved in a live session from Picture News about British Values and Protected Characteristics – we used these to inspire our Odd Socks designs as a reminder that we should not be discriminated against because of, for example, our race, gender, sexuality and age.
In science the children did some problem-solving work in groups using their knowledge of electricity. They then worked together to create a hoopla game that would buzz when a player scored. It was designed so the hoop would complete the circuit and make the buzzer work.
And for a bit of light relief, with December around the corner, our Christmas preparations have begun with making Christmas Tree decorations for the Holy Cross Church's Christmas Tree display.
