Year 2 analyse the Mystic Nativity
This week in art we have been investigating colour in the work of Piet Mondrian and Wassily Kandinsky. We made comparisons between the two artists' use of colour then used our colour mixing knowledge to mix our own colours to match the artworks.
In RE we looked at Botticelli’s painting ‘Mystic Nativity’ and analysed it closely for the parts that we recognised and those that we felt were most interesting and most puzzling. When it came to the "most important" feature of the painting though, we all agreed it had to be baby Jesus himself of course!
As this week is anti-bullying week we have been discussing the difference between "banter" and bullying and what to do if we experience bullying ourselves. We've enjoyed "making a noise" about bullying and even wrote our own class rap which we were proud to share in Collective Worship this week.
