In science this week Dragonflies have been looking at burning and developing their understanding that fire needs three things: fuel, heat and oxygen. By carefully using tea lights we carried out an experiment to investigate whether placing different sized glasses over a lit candle would affect how long it would remain to burn. Through this investigation we considered how much oxygen was available inside the up-turned glasses and how much carbon dioxide would be produced. 

We have continued to practise different methods to multiply increasingly larger numbers in maths - some of us preferred the 'grid method', others the 'expanded column' method and some the 'short column' method. In English we have gained a good understanding of Neil Armstrong and his colleagues as they travelled to and landed on the moon's surface and this will help us formulate our own ideas in our writing.

In PE we have looked at creating synchronised gymnastic movements with a partner, and in computing this week we have used our programming skills to control Micro:bits. This has involved writing our code and then downloading it to our micro-controllers to then run.

We worked on our nature's art project which teaches the children about the genre of land art. They explored the sculptural potential of natural materials before working collaboratively to create land art installations.
