Story in a Jar Competition - World Book Week
This year World Book Day was on Thursday 7th March, it is a worldwide celebration of reading, authors and illustrators. Research shows that reading for pleasure is the single biggest indicator of a child’s future success, and something at Monksmoor we are very passionate about. Therefore we celebrated reading through a whole week of events!
On Wednesday of our World Book Week, the children were invited to recreate a story inside a jar, using craft materials and some imagination! The children's wonderful competition entries are currently on display in our school library for all the children to appreciate at their library session.
A winning entry from EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 were selected and awarded a certificate and £5 book voucher. Congratulations to Winnie and Ellis! Well done to everyone who took part, and thank you for sharing some of your favourite stories through your jar art!
