Year 2 - Historical Figures
Year 2 have had a wonderful first week becoming our new Squirrels! We have enjoyed getting to know each other and settling in to our new classroom. We started off the week by sketching some self-portraits - we spoke about techniques such as contour hatching, stippling and cross-hatching to create shading. Our completed work is on display in the cloakroom!
We have also been revisiting the zones of regulation to help us describe our feelings and will be re-visiting our zone tools and strategies next week.
We kicked off our topic by learning about historical individuals including Emmeline Pankhurst, Rosa Parks and Henry VII! We used a historical model known as Dawson's model to identify why these people were historically significant. Everyone has been working really hard, we can't wait to see what next week brings!
