Forest School practise teamwork, compromise and welly wanging!
The Forest School groups have had the opportunity to make some Christmas decorations this week. They listened carefully to the instructions they were given and their finished creations will be making their way home nearer to the big day.
The weather is really turning cold now and we do still go out so please make sure your child has suitable clothing. Layers are very effective in keeping you warm and don't forget some spare warm/welly socks as the children still enjoy the icy water of the puddle. Year 4 were very excited to break up the ice that had formed on top of it on Wednesday! They also showed great imagination in constructing a chocolate fountain and hot chocolate and ice shop - delicious! There was lots of teamwork and compromise in evidence as an assault course was built over the water and a lot of support and encouragement given as the children tried to complete it.
'Welly wanging' proved to be a lot of fun for the older Key Stage 2 groups who had previously shown interest in throwing objects at a target. We worked out how it could be done safely, devised our own rules and practised our technique. We'll be experts by the school summer fayre!
