Forest School - Robins, Nests and Treasure

Year 3 were very excited to see a robin visiting one of our new 'milk bottle' bird feeders during their session this week.  A group of children sat very patiently to observe it and were interested in how it darted from the bushes to the feeder.  We also spotted a nest in the hedge which we will keep a close eye on!

There was lots of imaginative play going on as well with the creation of a welly wash, which could prove very useful, and the children devised a game to throw pine cones into a target to score points.

Year 4 visited the Country Park for their session and worked really well as a team to solve clues in a treasure hunt.  This led to some children wanting to devise their own treasure hunt for each other with some very well thought out and tricky clues!  Other children used the natural resources to build shelters for themselves or a woodland creature.
