Year 2 - A visit from Buddy

Year 2 have had a great start to the new term. Like all classes, we have been very busy with maypole dancing but have also squeezed in some learning too! We are really enjoying our new topic "Coastline" and have been working hard in geography learning the countries, seas, oceans and capital cities of the UK. We have also been learning about compass directions and had a great time testing out the new orienteering course on the playground. It was great to get active outside and put our map skills to work!

This week we also had a visit from Mike from the NSPCC. He brought along his friend Buddy (a friendly speech bubble puppet) to teach us about how to stay safe and who to talk to if we feel unsafe or have a worry. The children enjoyed completing the workshop and remembered lots from their virtual assembly last week. A big thank you to the NSPCC for providing this workshop!
