Year 2 - Royal Portraits
Year 2 have been looking at royal portraits this week. We looked closely at the facial expressions, poses, clothing, objects and background. We thought about the messages they were trying to send within the portraits. The children really enjoyed observing the images closely.
We decided Henry VIII wanted to make himself appear strong and fearless and we spotted in a painting of Elizabeth I that a bible was included to represent her strong faith and religious believes. We can’t wait to see what the children will include in their own portraits next week!
