In D&T this week we continued our work on frame structures.  The Badgers used construction straws to model solutions to strengthen a cuboid.

The children learned to use a junior hacksaw to cut wood for their greenhouse frames using the dimensions from the plans they created last week.  All children demonstrated competence in managing their own risks when using the junior hacksaw and could tell Mrs Brock the safety rules.

By the end of the lesson they'd created a wooden box frame with the corners strengthened by cardboard corners.
