Year 4 - Blessings and Good Fortune
This week Woodpeckers have applied their understanding of decimal numbers and how to partition them to the mathematical area of money. Through identifying the place value of each digit in an amount of money we were able to compare and order different values, and suggest which combinations of coins could be used to create a required amount.
In English, we have continued our work on ‘The Iron Man’ using extended noun phrases and dialogue. Our science lessons have cemented our understanding of sound waves and how blowing through different lengths of straw or gently tapping glasses with varying volumes of water can affect the pitch of a note.
We have been studying Lakshmi the goddess who represents wealth and prosperity for Hindus, in RE. We considered what blessings and good fortune we would wish for other the members of the class.
