Year Three
We have had a very busy few weeks in Year 3, not only focussing on our Writing (we are just finishing The Iron Man) and Addition and Subtraction in Maths (we have been learning how to exchange 1's and 10) but also lots of wider learning.
In RE, we have been learning about Hinduism, particularly the cycle of life and Karma thinking about how good and bad actions can influence a Hindu's life. We also made Rangoli patterns in preparation for Diwali - the festival of light.
In PHSE we have been considering friendships and what makes a good friend.
In PE we have been learning about symbols on a map, applying our learning both indoor and outdoor. We used our compass knowledge to navigate around an area. We moved onto Fundamentals learning how to skip, jump and hop. We enjoyed improving and sharing our techniques.
In Topic, we have discussed the differences and similarities between the UK and France, looking at cities, journeys, populations and human and physical features.
In Art we spent time enjoying Botanical art through flower drawing and creation from texture pattens we had designed.
In Science we made fossil patterns through dough baking and creating sedimentary and metamorphic rocks with different coloured chocolate! We investigated our experiments through Fair Test analysis, considering successes and potential improvements.
