This week Year 3 have been working on automaton toy cam mechanisms. They came up with an idea and tried to create it. The children also had a quiz which sees the completion of the science unit on light and shadows.

Due to the heat, the children have completed yoga exercises for PE – they enjoyed the opportunity for relaxing gentle exercise. In maths we have now finished the fractions unit and we will be moving onto money next. In English we have had an experience day to collect vocabulary for our explanation text. The text is based on the theme of and book titled ‘The street beneath my feet’.

The children have been re-capping their knowledge of rocks with 'The Rock Cycle Song'. Mr Cooper has sent the lyrics home as the children (and adults) have really enjoyed the song! The children may ask you to find the song, you can complete an internet search of 'rock cycle song' or use this link.*
