Forest School DJs create dragon beats
It has been fantastic to see such a lot of positive and effective teamwork displayed by Year 4 during their session this week. The children were so busy in their own little groups having lots of fun while developing their skills of imagination, resilience, compromise and working together. A dragon's egg (large pine cone) was discovered which led to a structure being built, and painted, to protect it and music being played to encourage it to hatch. The children were interested in the various sounds they could make from different size tyres as well as buckets filled with water. I loved the trees they created!
Another group used the knot knowledge we had practiced to make a zip line. It took a lot of perseverance to get the tripod to stand up but they got there and enjoyed trying it out. Some children played in pairs with the sledges while others worked together to create a route across the muddy puddle.
