Year 2 - Creative across the Curriculum
Year 2 have been very busy being creative across the curriculum!
In RE we have used drama to recreate the events of Holy Week leading up to Easter. This week we followed this by discussing symbols of Easter and creating our own versions from clay whilst explaining why these symbols are so important to Christians when celebrating Easter.
Our current Science learning unit is all about animals, including food chains and life cycles. We created our own versions of the butterfly life cycle using pasta shapes. To reinforce our learning about butterfly life cycles, we have some very hairy new classroom visitors in the form of 5 caterpillars! We have been excitedly watching them grow bigger and we are looking forward to watching them transform into butterflies over the coming weeks! Watch this space!
In maths we have been learning about multiplication for the first time, using our 2, 5 and 10 times tables. We will build upon these by transferring our skills to division over the coming weeks!
