Forest School - Teamwork and tool work
Tool work has been one of the opportunities for Year 5 over the last couple of weeks. The children were able to use a hammer to add nails to a wooden 'cookie' before willow was woven around them to construct a nest. Secateurs were used to cut the willow and trim the ends before the children foraged for moss and other items to put inside their nest.
Some of the class decided that the mud slide needed an upgrade. One group worked at trying to flatten out the original one by digging and clearing, while another group decided it would be better to create a new one. Lots of fun was had and there was great teamwork, negotiation and communication in evidence.
