Forest School weaves us together
Our 'SHINE' principles of 'Inclusivity' and 'Never giving up' were very much in evidence at Forest School this week.
Some of the Year 3 children created 'God's Eye' weavings on lolly sticks. The patterns took a lot of concentration and perseverance, but the results made it all worthwhile. Others decided to create two huge slides down the bank - one was even enclosed! The children worked well together, negotiating and adapting their design. Of course, the best bit was testing the slide out with the addition of muddy water to increase the speed!
Year 5 are really enjoying creating their own dens and bases and come to their session already brimming with ideas and plans of what they want to create. It is lovely to see their enthusiasm and enjoyment in working collaboratively.
Year 2 also made some dens but on a smaller scale to offer our toy birds some shelter from the weather.
