Year 1 create transient art
Forest School - We have been noticing signs of the changing seasons and made transient art inspired by the story, 'Leaf Man'. The children enjoyed making bird feeders and continuing to use palm drills to make our cookie necklaces. The favourite for lots of us is still the muddy puddle!
Woodland picnic - Last week the children in Year 1 enjoyed making and tasting woodland themed foods including owl biscuits, grape caterpillars and raspberry and marshmallow mushrooms!
We have also been looking at the work of different artists. We have talked about how we can recreate some of their pieces digitally using the Paintz program. This week we were looking at Henri Matisse. We used the shape and fill tools to create these colourful shape pictures.
Alien Spaceship crash landing - What an exciting day we had today! The children spotted alien footprints and slime outside the classroom and later we came across the crash site of an alien spaceship! We have also found an alien egg which we are looking after. We're looking forward to writing all about our adventures next week!
