Year 2 study the spread of glittery germs
In science we have been learning about hygiene and thinking about how germs spread and how we need to wash our hands to prevent the spread of bacteria and viruses. We created a model of this by covering our hands in oil and glitter and then shaking hands of another to see how the "glitter germs" might be passed from one person to another.
In our beach hut unit we are learning about structures. We have finished creating beach huts out of cardboard and we have moved on to learning how to use a junior hacksaw safely to cut wood to create a wooden box frame for our next beach hut model. We have also been exploring why triangles are more stable shapes than squares using cocktail sticks and gummy sweets as connectors to investigate independently.
