Year two enjoy the company of Bog Baby
We have also enjoyed planting our own seeds, peas and bulbs during Science. We will continue to investigate the impact of sunlight, water and the right temperature as these begin to germinate and grow.
We have also been learning about the food groups that comprise a balanced diet. Children explored restaurant menus and used their knowledge of food groups to consider how to make familiar meals healthier. Following a design brief to create a healthy wrap or sandwich that would be suitable for a school lunch menu, the learners planned a wrap to make; ensuring it had elements from each food group. Using their plans, they made their wrap or sandwich and helped to prepare the ingredients using the "bridge and claw" cutting method. Finally, they evaluated each other's recipes by sampling them. It was lovely to see so many of them trying new things and being so proud of what they had made.
