Clubs and Activities

We are proud to offer a range of before and after school clubs, and lunchtime activities to enhance the opportunities available at our school.

Clubs offered by the Monksmoor Park staff team

KS2 Knitting Club

This free club will run on Mondays 30th September-16th December 2024 from 3:30pm-4:30pm.

All materials will be provided, children will just need to bring their patience! Mrs Brock would like to share this super relaxing and satisfying hobby (once you've mastered it!) but advises it does require a little patience and perseverance until you get the hang of it.

At 4:30pm children should be collected from the school office.

There are 10 spaces available on a first come, first served basis. If we able to offer more spaces in the future we will use the waiting list.

 

School Choir

The school choir is open to children in Reception–Year 6. It will take place on Thursdays 3rd October-19th December from 3:30pm-4:15pm.

There is no limit on the number of places available however bookings must be made on ParentMail so we have the necessary parental consent in place.

After choir at 4:15pm children should be collected promptly from the school hall door.

 

KS2 Running Club

This free club will run on Mondays 30th September-16th December 2024 from 3:30pm-4:15pm.

Weather permitting the club runs around either the school grounds or Daventry Country Park, or takes up another form of physical activity in the school hall.

By booking a space you are confirming:

  • You will ensure your child will bring running kit to change into, comprising of suitable weather appropriate running clothing and footwear.
  • You understand that certain weather conditions or staff availability may mean the club will need to be cancelled at short notice. We will endeavour to cancel the club the day before.
  • You consent to your child leaving the school premises with staff to run at Daventry Country Park.

Children should be collected promptly at 4:15pm at the KS2 corridor exit.

KS2 LEGO Club

This free club will run on Fridays 4th October-13th December 2024 from 3:30pm-4:30pm.

Mrs Griggs is excited to offer a club that honours all things LEGO! This club will offer a space for children to explore their creative flair and share their passion of LEGO.
LEGO will be provided by the school.

At 4:30pm children should be collected from the external Reception Class/Hive door facing out on to Croxden Way.

There are 12 spaces available on a first come, first served basis. If we able to offer more spaces in the future we will use the waiting list.

 

KS1 Construction Club

This free club will run on Tuesdays 1st October-17th December 2024 during lunch time.

Mrs Ellison is excited to offer a club that explores all things construction! This club will offer a space for KS1 children to explore their creative flair and share their passion of building.
All resources will be provided.

There are 12 spaces available on a first come, first served basis. If we able to offer more spaces in the future we will use the waiting list.

 

KS2 History Club

This free club will run on Tuesdays 1st October-17th December 2024 from 3:30pm-4:30pm.

The club is offered by Mrs Ellison for children with an interest and passion in history.

At 4:30pm children should be collected from the school office.

There are 12 spaces available on a first come, first served basis. If we able to offer more spaces in the future we will use the waiting list.

 

The aforementioned clubs are subject to availability and can be booked on ParentMail between 4pm 28th Sept. – 4pm 6th Oct. If a club is fully booked a waiting list will be made available during this booking period.

 

Year 6 Go Kart Club

We are excited to be able to offer a lunch time Go Kart Club on Thursdays from 7th November.

During the course of the club, children will learn how to re-build a real go-kart, change tyres, and learn about steering and how an engine works. The club will be ‘hand-on’ each week and once we have managed to re-build the kart, we will all go to a local race track in Leicester and give each child an opportunity to drive their kart round the track.

There are 6 spaces available for children that have not already taken part in Go Kart Club. 

If more than 6 children are interested, we will run the club again, and we hope to pick 6 pupils each term for the rest of the academic year.

Parents will be required to attend the final track day and there will be a charge for this. Further details will be given to club members nearer the time.

The club can be booked on ParentMail between 4pm 28th Sept. – 4pm 12th Oct.

 

Clubs from Super Star Sport

Super Star Sport clubs are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays during term time.  For more information and to book a space please contact Super Star Sport, contact details are available in their flyer at the bottom of the page.  These clubs are available to children in Reception - Year 6.

Bookings must be made directly with Super Star Sport Midlands.

 

All clubs must be booked and are subject to availability.
